ractors - resistence time

During some chemical reaction heat is getting absorbed or emitted.

Many exotermic reactions are temperature-dependent. The higher the temperature the faster the reaction.

If the reactants are running trhough a reactor the temperature and the resistence time is important. if the temperature is two low or the resistence time too short the reaction is not finished. If the temperatue is too high the reactants may take damage.

The picture below is showing different resistence times depending on diffrent shape of the shell-side.

determination of mixing quality with particle distribution

Normally a mixer heat-exchanger have a shell-side and a pipe-side. Inside the shell-side two or more fluids are getting mixed. During the mixing they absorb or emit heat to/from the pipe-side.

The layout and optimization of the process can be done with cfd.
